Housing and Independent Living Group

Core issues addressed:

The availability of and access to housing for disabled people, e.g. in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas from Portsmouth City Council Housing and other housing suppliers, their policies and delivery, with particular interest in the DPAA (Disabled Persons Accommodation Agency)

The availability of provision of support to enable disabled people to live independently, e.g. Supporting People, their policies and delivery, with particular interest in the DPA (Direct Payments), and in DFG's (Disabled Facilities Grants.)

Any service or facility which impacts on an individual gaining their maximum level of independent living. (Note under this heading some items may overlap across working groups, a lead working group will be identified whose purpose is to consult and communicate with the other working groups).
