What we do

The following is a list of some of the activities we undertake as a Forum.

Consultation

We facilitate consultation with our members through either our working groups or by special events or on a one to one basis.

Partnership

We work in partnership with Portsmouth City Council and other Service Providers this can be on joint projects, or through consultation.

Conferences

We provide and promote conferences on disability issues this can be on local or national issues, generally in partnership with other organisations.

Preferred Delivery of Services

We Inform service providers of preferred delivery of services after consultation with our working groups and members in order to improve access.

Lack of Services

We identify lack of or gaps in services either through our working groups and members or directly from the public, then contact and work with providers to improve access.

Advice

We advise on disability access issues through our Access Working Group, and on other access issuess through our publications such as 'One City Many Abilities' which is a disability awareness training guide.

Monitoring

We monitor services for good practice through comments raised at our working groups, by members or directly from the public.

New Issues and Interests

We identify key topics of interest from and for our members in order to incorporate into existing working groups or new groups as required.

Signposting

We signpost individuals and/or organisations to other relevant services/organisations for the services or information they require.
